Crossroads 2008 STAR Camp

Backyard Broadway

At STAR Camp your child will experience the performing arts that is out of this world!  We offer a camp for 9 – 15 year olds that is filled with fun, music, expression, and movement in an educational and positive environment.  At Crossroads we believe that exploration through the arts enhances and enriches our children’s self esteem and future.

Backyard Broadway is a themed medley of Broadway favorites.  The show will consist of a various Broadway songs allowing multiple leads for the participants. The show takes place in a neighborhood backyard with a group of Broadway enthusiastic youth creating a fun and energetic show to entertain family and friends. 

The enrollment is limited to 40 participants in which each camper will receive a role through an audition process.  Upon registration, you will receive a packet of instructions and expectations for your camper.  In June all campers will audition for an assigned role, receive music, script and instructions to prepare for the camp.  Memorization of lines and knowledge of the music and lyrics are expected before camp begins.  During the camp participants will create and paint sets, learn music and harmony, make props, study blocking, choreography and rehearse daily.  Performances of the show will be held on Friday August 1^st and Saturday August 2^nd.

Registration is on a first come/first serve paid basis. Cost is $350.00 if paid in full before May 1^st.  After May 1^st tuition is $400.00.  There is a $25 family discount available for more than one child attending.  Registration closes June 1^st. A $50.00 deposit is non refundable after June 1^st.  Full tuition is not refundable after June 15, 2008.  Please make checks payable to Crossroads and mail to address below.

Camp runs for two weeks starting July 21^st and ends August 2^nd.  Sessions begin at 9:00 A.M. and Ends at 3:00 P.M.  Lunch is not provided.  Camp is held at the First Parish Congregational Church, Beach Street in Saco.

*Parental signature gives permission for camp photos to be taken with possible use in promotions and for transportation of field trips.
